Identify the defect before changing the bath
Orange peel appears as an uneven surface texture. Fish eyes are circular areas where the coating pulls away, while pitting appears as small surface holes. Similar symptoms can have different causes.
Check cleaning and contamination
Review degreasing, rinsing and any silicone, oil or polishing-compound contamination. Compare a good part and a defective part from the same production shift.
Review process conditions
Check filtration, bath cleanliness, voltage, temperature and film build against the supplier data sheet. Change one variable at a time and validate the result on a controlled sample.
